It is critical to likewise demonstrate that facilitated commerce cultivates financial development of the countries. This case is apparent where there is equivalent open door for both poor people and rich countries. Poor people countries are offered chance to exchange their products at sensible cost and along these lines agreeing them promptly accessible ma rket. Room Security free essay sample

will clarify an appalling circumstance that happened to me due to being careless and flighty. The manner in which I took care of a specific circumstance likewise drives me to be talking about the significance of protecting your things inside your sleeping enclosure room and making sure about your things. I will clarify an ongoing robbery that happened to me and how it could have been stayed away from, had I followed guidelines recorded in the encampment handbook. Disastrous things happen when appropriate measures are not taken. I have seen firsthand what it resembles to lose significant things on account of being thoughtless. In this paper I will likewise be demonstrating the best possible approach to make sure about your things in the sleeping shelter and why this is significant within the garisson huts, yet wherever you go as a Soldier in the US Army. I won't just clarify why it is imperative to make sure about your assets in the encampment, and lock your sleeping enclosure entryway, yet I will likewise relate this to how it looks at to real minutes in the war zone where you may endure on the off chance that you are missing things of significant worth because of absence of responsibility for them. Before I start to educate you regarding that it is so essential to keep your important secure and your garisson huts bolted consistently, let me mention to you what befell me to cause me to understand that I was very careless with my things. One weekend, I was from my military enclosure room. I had the way in to my sleeping shelter with the rest of my personal effects consistently, or so I thought. At the point when I returned home, I was unable to find my keys anyplace. To my sad karma, I found that I had lost my key. This implied I couldn't bolt my garisson huts entryway, leaving my room presented to clear mischief, for example, burglary. In a lamentable touch of occasions, during an investigation of my military quarters, somebody discovered that my entryway was opened. They immediately exploited the circumstance and of my absence of responsibility for my possessions and things of high worth. The entirety of my gadgets and high worth things were on display inside my military enclosure room. Nothing was made sure about. Nothing was in my storage. Nothing was taken care of behind a lock and key to shield it from being taken. On account of my carelessness and my negligence for finding a substitution key to my sleeping shelter room, somebody that saw my room was opened came into my military quarters after the garisson huts review was held and continued to take the entirety of my gadgets and things of significant worth. Regardless of my absence of security for my assets, I got back to discover the entirety of my things were missing and that I had become a casualty of burglary. I profoundly lament not supplanting my sleeping enclosure key when I lost it. The entirety of the sadness I encountered as a casualty of robbery could have been totally maintained a strategic distance from had I not been so careless and thoughtless. I continued to record a report with the police about the burglary. I went mad looking through the web to check whether individuals had begun to sell my assets on yard deal pages and Craigslist. I was additionally directed on the issue. Yet, that isn't even the most noticeably awful part. In addition to the fact that I lost a huge number of dollars worth of assets that I can't supplant so effectively as it took me numerous well deserved dollars to buy them, yet I likewise need to answer to my NCO every day and show that I have my military quarters key represented. I dealt with my circumstance in the most erroneous way. The accompanying things are what I ought to have done right when I lost my key. In the first place, I ought to have gone right to my NCO and clarified my issue. I ought to have told my NCO that I lost my key and accepted responsibility for the absence of obligation and articulate carelessness that I had expected with losing such an important thing. There is no reason for me leaving my military enclosure entryway opened. That ought not have occurred. Moreover, I have taken in my exercise in leaving important things laying around unattended and as a result of how my things were taken, I will be taking progressively careful and safeguard measures to guarantee my significant possessions starting now and into the foreseeable future. I will utilize my storage and try to keep all the significant things I own bolted safely when I am away. There is additionally never a reason for leaving my military enclosure entryway opened. That is something I won't do once more. In the event that I would have been increasingly cautious and dependable, none of these lamentable things would have happened and I would not have been ransacked by my individual military quarters mates. The guideline in the dormitory handbook expresses the accompanying with respect to Keys: â€Å"Either metal or card keys are given to occupants. Occupants must convey keys with them consistently as entryways naturally lock when shut. Propping the entryway open or messing with the entryway lock in any design is unapproved. † Whenever you leave your room, you should ensure you make sure to make sure about the entirety of your significant expense things into your relegated divider storage spaces, all the more critically you must make certain to bolt your entryway when you leave. At the point when you decide not to bolt up your assets and lock your dormitory room entryway, at that point you chipped in yourself to be a casualty of thievery. Normally, I would keep my military enclosure key with me in a safe spot, as to not lose or lose it. Shockingly, one day I forgot about it and couldn't find it. It was my carelessness and absence of thought for my own assets and significant things in my sleeping quarters that lead to the occasions that followed. Since I couldn't discover my military quarters key, I left my room opened. This was an error that I would unpleasantly pay for. At the point when I came back to my dormitory, the entirety of my important things had been taken and were mysteriously gone. The sinking sentiment of being looted is something that I could have kept away from had I been increasingly cautious and smart, and followed military quarters rules with regards to making sure about your own things. I took in an important exercise that day. You can't ever confide in anybody. Indeed, even your closest companion has had the impulse to take something from you. I know now that despite the fact that I was from my space for a couple of seconds, that is all it took for somebody to come in and expel the entirety of my significant things of worth. An extraordinary method to prevent something horrible like this from transpiring is to bolt the entirety of your individual things of significant worth up in your storage and safe spot and to bolt your entryway. On the off chance that you choose to get moving for a short stroll outside to have toss out some trash, do some clothing or in any event, for a smoke and you think in your mind, â€Å"well, I will just going to be away for a couple of moments, nothing will happen to my things since no one will come into my room. † Well you thought wrong. There is consistently somebody meandering everywhere throughout the corridors verifying who has their sleeping shelter entryway opened. Cheats are consistently watching out for those minor seconds when you let your gatekeeper down, as I did when I lost my military enclosure key. Likewise when you exit and someone is in the lobby they can see whether you bolted your entryway or not. The military enclosure is an incredibly little spot where each one converses with one another. In this way, it just takes one Soldier to see that you have left your things unattended and your room opened all together for a robbery to occur in your sleeping enclosure and afterward, much the same as that, you can lose the entirety of the things you endeavored to pay for. At the point when your resources are costly, you shouldn’t play with the opportunity that somebody won’t take them. Odds are, living in the garisson huts, your individual Soldiers have seen you buy and get your significant things into your room and they know cap you have and you can't believe that even your dearest companions won't surrender to that enticement on the off chance that you leave your entryway opened. It is critical to bolt your things up and your entryway. Keeping your things secure all comes down to keeping up responsibility for the security of the activity, the achievement of a crucial a s oldier’s achievement period. You are responsible for your things, no one else is. You should manufacture propensities where you guard your things by practicing security to them and by accepting responsibility of your things consistently so you can work with bit of brain and harmony. The propensities for practicing security and responsibility of a troopers things permit the officer and their group to work to a lot better expectations and not have things be taken by a friend making cynicism because of loss of stuff you esteem. In the Army, the term for keeping your things secure is called, â€Å"Operational security†. It is a procedure that denies basic data to anybody that isn't benefit to have it. If somebody somehow managed to get the data given it could be utilized against inviting powers. At the point when you utilize the entirety of your way to keep up and secure delicate things this advances appropriate operational security and fighter availability. At the point when you don't do this, things of touchy nature get the danger of misfortune by being blocked by unintended individuals. All Soldiers should keep responsibility of the entirety of their things and individual possessions, including those that have high an incentive so as to permit confidence and keep anybody is malevolently attempting to take from you, away from doing as such. Operational security can be undermined with the loss of important or touchy things as a result of the loss of gear that you may have left unattended, unbound, opened and open for anybody to take. Some of the time, this happens with your military apparatus also and afterward when you need it, it is missing and individuals can sell it and this imperils your wellbeing when you are needing your rigging. Envision what it would resemble in the event that you were in the war zone and your weapon arrived in an inappropriate hands since you neglected to think about it enough to keep it secure while it was unattended. Your important things ought to be kept thusly. A taken weapon can bring about undesirable mischief from an outsider and far and away more terrible, setbacks. You would not need that kind of occasions blurring your still, small voice. You should constantly make sure about everything of significant worth, any place you are, regardless of whether it be on the front line, or essentially in your garisson huts while you step

Thomas Hobbes And The Political Philosophy - 986 Words

Thomas Hobbes was, as we know, a 17th century British philosopher. The idea being that I give up my right to murder my neighbor so that my neighbor is not allowed to murder me. You give up your right to do things that could possible harm other people so that other people do not harm you doing those same things. Lady Capulet Ulrikka Jonsson Essay Example

Lady Capulet: Ulrikka Jonsson Paper This adaptation of Romeo and Juliet is based on a football theme. There are two rival chairmen and their families of two football clubs Manchester United and Manchester City. Both of these football clubs are in Manchester. On the east of Manchester we have Manchester United, on the west of Manchester we have Manchester City. The chairman of Manchester City is Capulet and the chairman of Manchester United is Montague. These two rival football teams have battled through thick and thin to win the Championship to take the title of premiership winners. Every year like a pendulum swings from side to side the championship is won by united one year and city the next its carried on like this for years. But one season when Manchester City won the cup, the chairman Capulet threw a party for all those in the team and executives of the club. Romeo the son of Montague the chairman of united was heartbroken and depressed. For his team had lost the cup. Benvolio, Romeos cousin persuades him to gatecrash the Capulets party with him along side Romeos friend Mercutio. They do this and get to the party. The party was going great, as the guests entered old Capulet himself greeted them. Romeo and friends wore bandannas round their mouths so they wouldnt be recognised, The party was in full swing and everything was going great. Tybalt the nephew of Capulet told old Capulet that Romeo and friends had gatecrashed the party. Capulet wasnt bothered. Juliet and Romeo then meet as Juliet spills punch on Romeo. The party ends and Romeo is on his way home but climbs a wall and finds Juliet by her window. Next morning Romeo goes to church and asks Friar Lawrence to marry Romeo and Juliet. They get married. But then Mercutio and Tybalt have a show down and fight each other. Tybalt kills Mercutio; Romeo is so hurt by this he kills Tybalt because he killed his best friend. Prince Escalus hears of this and banishes Romeo from Manchester. Juliet becomes engaged to Paris but she cannot marry him as she is in love with Romeo and is already married. So Friar Lawrence helps her out and gives her magic sleep. It is a drug, which makes her appear dead for 48 hours. She takes it and dies. Meanwhile the Friar gives Romeo a phone-call; no one answers so the Friar leaves a message. Romeo doesnt get it, as his machine is broken. Juliets family, grieve for her and Friar Lawrence takes the service. Balthasar, Romeos most trustworthy friend, appears at the church and sees what has happened. He immediately drives down to see Romeo and tells him what has happened. Romeo immediately drives to the church, he sees Juliet lying in the coffin, and he commits suicide by shooting himself. Juliet wakes up and sees what has happened and then kills herself with the remaining bullet left in the pistol. The funeral is now for Romeo and Juliet and both teams and chairmen bury the hatchet of the past and vow not to let there be anymore violence be tween them again. That is the outline of the story. I am setting it in Manchester, as it does have to rival teams in the same city. The derbies between Manchester City and Manchester United have always been exceptional. Manchester has two high profiled football clubs. The places in which the two rival gangs of Capulet and Montague meet are always in the car park of The Trafford Centre, I have set this here as its a popular place and when the gangs arrive its always in very expensive cars. The killing of Tybalt and Mercutio is happens just outside the Old Trafford Stadium by the Bobby Moore statue. I am casting Vinny Jones as Prince Escalus because as he is known as the hard man of football I think that people will listen to him when he gives the sentences to Capulet and Montague about having the lives pay the forfeit. I think also that he will be loud enough for the part as well. I have featured Dawn French as the nurse as she is a comedienne and in Shakespeares original play the nurse is a light-hearted person with a sense of humour which I think Dawn French is ideal for. I think Lenny Henry is ideal for the part of Mercutio, as in Shakespeares original play Mercutio is a funny character and is thinks that life is a permanent joke. As Lenny Henry is a comedian he is ideal for the part. I have put Michael Owen as Romeo and Rachel Powell as Juliet because they can both play football and both play for the opposing side in this movie. Rachel Powell plays for the female side, Rachel Powell is of a different creed and is black I thought this would be good because there is never a J uliet from a different racial background. I have made it up to date in the sense of the tension between different gangs today, for example arson and murders. Everything is up to date including the team kits of the teams.

Data Collection and Analysis With a Real Teacher

Data Collection and Analysis With a Real Teacher Data analysis is an important aspect of a research after data has been collected from a project. Collection of data before and after the project reveals the outcomes of the inputs given to the project. May first collected data from a student who was his new assistant.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Data Collection and Analysis With a Real Teacher-Researcher specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More This student was part of tier three plan that helped students focus on the importance of the project. The student’s role in the project was to collect data that would help May find out important information regarding his teaching and behavior that had been going on in the classroom. One of the methods that can be used to collect data is triangulation. In this approach, multiple sources of data collected are used to narrow down to the information required so as to make a strong research project (Dana and Yendol, 2009). Infor mation collected at different lengths of time is analyzed so that a particular pattern is observed. This is a characteristic of triangulation, implying that it analyzes data that was collected at different times (Swenson, 2007). The student, who collected information at different time intervals and recorded them, gave May important information that helped her draw a plan. The four findings of the report were directly related to issues that May was to address in Class. The findings of the first report revealed that students at one time abandoned their tasks when the teacher left the classroom for a short time. Among the main issues that May will discuss is this scenario. According to normal routines of the school, when a teacher goes out of a lesson for a short time, student should continue writing down their agenda in preparation for the next class. This issue concerns procedure that ought to be addressed. When collection of data progresses, majority of the students begin to partici pate actively rather than being passive, hence, helping them become motivated and part of the project. In addition, the report reveals that some students sit at the back of the classroom. These students usually talk a lot while in class hence creating an uneasy atmosphere in the classroom.Advertising Looking for essay on education? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Students suggested to May to rearrange the seating positions in a manner that those seating behind and that are believed to be noise makers will be seated in front. To demonstrate this, May moved one of the students as they had suggested in order observe how it would work. Due to the fact that the student assistant was responsible with her work, she took the responsibility of helping May in coming up with a solution that would help solve the problem of uneasy classroom. The data collected showed progress that was made each week, while the findings by the stu dent were helpful for May to create a plan and formulate strategies that would be needed throughout the research. From the findings, students continuously became engaged in their work every passing week of the study and that they had interest in the lessons they were learning. They begun working as a group so as to meet the goals they had set. From Mays’ graphs, you can observe steady progress in class participation. The visual graph that May gave his students to track their progress gave them ownership in the project (McDaniel R., 2009). According to Robin McDaniel (2009), students of these days are used to hands on learning because it gives them ownership of the project which in turn helps them stay engaged. Giving students challenges encourages them to look for solutions of problems given to them. When visual clues are used, they remain on track and are informed of their progress in every step. From the information given by the assistant student and graphs of students, May would set new goals though, I would suggest that she challenges the students to complete their agendas and be ready to work within a short time than before. Together as a group, the students would be willing to accomplish the new goal within a short time. I would also consider setting up a good atmosphere in the classroom. I would give the students an opportunity to design goals that are attainable and use charts to create visual reinforcements.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Data Collection and Analysis With a Real Teacher-Researcher specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Another group to be observed was the tier groups given to some students in May’s class. They were each given a tracking chart to help them stay on track with others in class. Although the two students made progress Leah’s progress was steady compared to Anthony as they struggled to meet goals set for them. Leah had an easy time meeting t he goals with little effort. I believe that Leah should be moved gradually to tier one group while Antony should continue with his individual goal sheet and personal graph. His goals should be increased in small increments so as to achieve success on a daily basis. Another approach that May can use to enable students succeed is by appointing two teacher assistants. Using them more responsibly would give them personal challenges to work hard as well as meet classroom goals. This would enable students struggle to meet their set individual goals thereby, enabling them stay focused in class. The most critical part of a project is the outcome. Whether the strategies that were used are successful or not does not matter, what matters is the fact that the a research project was completed and that there was an outcome. The outcome can then be shared with other professionals. If your research produces results that are helpful to the school or district, then your information should be shared w ith other professionals that you work with. Ethically, one should share his or her research findings in order to get divergent views and observations from others. Sharing of work has been likened to a stagnant pond. Change can be created in such a pond by triggering ripples in the water (Dana and Yendol, 2009). The best approach to use when sharing this information is by sharing it with colleagues at a professional development session. Power point slide presentation is the best way to present your information to such an audience. Your presentation should be structured in a manner that it shows the progress of the research project from initial stages to the final stages. Start from questions that led you to conduct the research, explanations and respond to questions from the audience (Walden University, 2011).. From the discussions, you would get varied observations that would strengthen you research findings.Advertising Looking for essay on education? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Although I might not give a perfect presentation because of fear, this would be a good way to begin or start a school calendar year. That is, seeing professionals talk about how to change stagnant policies that have been unattended for many years. In that regard, I believe that research projects can be used to adequately prepare students to meet challenges of the outside world. References Dana, N. F., Yendol, D. (2009). How to Choose a Major for Your College Application

How to Choose a Major for Your College Application SAT / ACT Prep Online Guides and Tips If you’ve recently started the college application process and are looking at particular schools, you might have noticed that some schools want you to know your major before you apply. Or at some schools, even if you don’t have to know your major, you have to apply to a specific undergraduate college such as Engineering, Nursing, or Arts and Sciences. So how do you know which major or school to apply to? What if you have no clue what you want to study in college? We'll give you advice and show you how to navigate admission sites to get the information you need. Applying to a Specific Undergraduate College For many universities, you apply for undergraduate admission and that’s it. Even if the university is divided into several smaller colleges of study, you won't have to choose a school until after you get to campus. For example, at Stanford, I wasn’t required to apply to a major or specific undergraduate division. Once I got to campus, I could choose between the different undergraduate schools: Humanities and Sciences, Engineering, or Earth Sciences. Each school housed its own majors. However, for some universities, you need to make the choice between undergraduate colleges when you are applying as a high school senior. To take a few prominent examples, Northwestern, Cornell, and Boston College all require you to apply to a specific undergraduate college. This can all be daunting when you're just 18 and don't know what to do with your life yet! The choices at those schools are as follows: Northwestern College of Arts and Sciences School of Journalism, Media, and Integrated Marketing Communications School of Engineering and Applied Science School of Communication School of Music School of Education and Social Policy Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences College of Architecture, Art, and Planning College of Arts and Sciences College of Engineering College of Business (which is further divided into two schools: School of Hotel Administration and School of Applied Economics and Management) College of Human Ecology School of Industrial and Labor Relations Boston College College of Arts and Sciences School of Management School of Education School of Nursing Which school you apply to could also affect your application requirements. For example, the different colleges at Cornell have different standardized test requirements. So what do you do if you want to apply to a university like this- but aren't sure about your future area of study? The answer to this depends on whether the choice is binding or not. When Picking a College or Major Is Binding If it’s easy to switch between schools once you enroll as a student, then don’t worry too much about the choice you make senior year. Just pick the college that is closest to your current interests. For example, at Cornell internal transfers are generally easy, but requirements vary depending on the college. If it’s hard to make an internal transfer, however, you'll need to think carefully and make sure you are choosing the right school before you apply. For example, at Boston College, transfers into some divisions are harder than others. If you decide as an undergraduate to go into the Management College or Nursing School, it’s hard to get in. As a general rule, if a college has a very specific field of study (engineering, nursing, management) and that particular college had extra requirements for undergraduate admission, internally transferring will be harder. How to Figure Out How Binding a School Is How do you find out how binding the choice is? First, search the undergraduate admission site and see whether it offers any guidance or advice for picking an undergraduate school or division. Usually, this will be on the application requirements page. For example, on Boston College's admissions page for its majors and minors, it explains that all applicants must apply to a specific undergraduate division. Further down, it gives more in-depth information about what to do if you're still undecided about what you want to study, or if you're considering an internal transfer. If you can’t find this information on the admissions website, search "[School Name] internal transfers." Most universities with strictly defined undergraduate divisions will have processes and policies for students who have already enrolled and decided they want to switch. If you can’t find any of this information online, look up the contact information for the school's admissions office and either call or send an email. Also, don't be scared to contact admissions officers- they tend to be very friendly and helpful! Once you've figured out whether the choice of an undergraduate division is binding or not, what do you do next? If the Choice Is Binding ... If a university on your list has a binding admission policy to undergraduate divisions, make sure you have other college options that are less strict. You wouldn’t want to get stuck committing to a college or area of study you later decide you’re not interested in. Therefore, I recommend applying to at least two universities that allow you to choose your school and area of study after you get to campus. If the Choice Is Not Binding ... If you’re really not sure which college to apply to and the choice isn't binding, then pick the most general program. Most universities will have a College of Arts and Sciences or a Humanities and Sciences school with the widest variety of majors. The other schools are usually geared toward more specialized for programs such as engineering and nursing. Therefore, don’t apply to a specific area of study like that unless you’re certain it's a career you want to go into Applying to a Specific Major While some schools have you choose an undergraduate division or college when you apply, others go further and want you to apply to a specific major. Sometimes you'll need to apply to a major if you are interested in a particularly competitive or rigorous field of study. This means you have to know even more specifically what you want to study before you get to college. One example is San Diego State University. When you apply, you choose a major and are ranked within the major. You can apply undecided and declare when you get to campus. However, if you want to pursue a specialized subject such as nursing, you have to apply as a high school senior. Another example is Georgetown. While they allow applicants to apply undecided, they recommend that applicants interested in language, literature, math, or the sciences apply in those majors. So what do you do if a college on your list wants you to know your major before you get to campus? Find Out Whether Switching Majors Is Hard Your first step is to find out how hard or easy it is to switch majors. Use the strategies we focused on above: start by browsing the admission website and then search for "[School Name] switching major" on Google. If neither of these methods pans out, feel free to contact the admissions office and ask them directly. As a general rule, if a major has more specific or harder admission requirements (this is often the case with science, math, nursing, and engineering), it will be harder to transfer into. If changing your major isn’t difficult, don’t agonize over the decision. Choose a major that best aligns with your interests and strongest classes. Admissions officers will want to see that you have the academic chops to back up your intended major, so don’t pick biology if you’ve only taken one biology class and did poorly in it! If switching your major is difficult, make sure to choose a major that is related to a career you want and your personal strengths. Also, don't forget to apply to other colleges that allow you to choose your major on campus so you’ll have some choices. Again, the worst-case scenario is being locked into a major you eventually decide you don’t want to study, thereby making you unable to pursue something you're actually interested in! Favorite High School Subjects and Possible Majors There are often dozens, if not hundreds, of majors you can choose from in college, and some are very different from what you study in high school. This can make it hard to choose a major on a college application, regardless of whether you have to just indicate interest or actually apply to a major. If you want to explore college majors because you have to list one for an application but aren’t sure where to start, this list is a jumping-off point based on what you like in high school. Research interesting-looking majors by looking up their department websites at schools you’re interested in. For example, if you want to learn more about sociology, look up "[School Name] department of sociology." Majors are approached differently across universities, so it’s smart to have an idea of the different ways a major can be taught. Here are the various types of majors you can look for in popular fields depending on the subjects you've enjoyed so far in high school: If You Love English/Language Arts English Literature Comparative Literature Creative Writing Philosophy Journalism Communications Foreign Language Studies If You Love Math Accounting Business Computer Science Economics Information Technology Philosophy Mathematics Engineering (any kind) If You Love Science Biology Chemistry Physics Pre-Medicine Studies Environmental or Earth Science Environmental or Biochemical Engineering Geology Nursing Psychology If You Love History/Social Sciences History Anthropology Sociology Psychology Political Science International Relations Foreign Language Studies If You Love Theater/Fine Arts/Music Theater/Performance Studies Film Photography Art Art History Dance Communications Music Performance If You Want to Go Into Medicine Biology Chemistry Organic Chemistry Neuroscience Physics Psychology If You Want to Go Into Law Criminal Justice Economics English Literature History International Relations Philosophy Psychology Political Science Sociology If You Want to Go Into Business Accounting Business Administration Economics Human Resources Management Science Psychology Again, this is just a starting point. Many students explore classes outside their major once they get to college- and many end up in fields they never expected to. Use this list to help you find majors you might like, but don't feel as though you must study something. Should I Choose a Major or Be "Undecided"? Some colleges don’t require you to apply within a major but do give you the option to say what you want to study. This gives you a choice: should you apply undecided, or indicate a potential major? If you're leaning strongly toward an area of study and have the academic experience to back it up, it’s smart to go ahead and indicate that interest. This can help show colleges where to focus on your high school transcript. For example, if you want to study biology and have excellent grades in natural science and math and have even done a little research, put own biology as a prospective major. Doing this will put your experience in context and show how interested you are in the subject. That said, if you’re really not sure and simply want to explore academic subjects in college, there’s nothing wrong with applying undecided. Many universities expect undergraduates to browse a variety of fields and often require them to take classes in all major subjects. Furthermore, switching your major is very common in college- at some colleges, more than half of undergraduates end up switching! Just make sure that on your application, even if you don’t indicate a major, you demonstrate strong intellectual interests and aptitude, either through your essays or extracurricular activities. Final Tip: Apply to Non-Binding Colleges, Too As a final piece of advice, make sure at least a few of the colleges you apply to do not bind you to a major or undergraduate division before you get to campus. Your goal is to have as many options as possible once you get to April of your senior year. One way to do this is to apply to liberal arts schools. If you really have no idea what you want to study, liberal arts colleges can be good choices, as they encourage students to take a wide variety of classes and don’t expect you to enter knowing exactly what you want to study. Many universities also just accept general undergraduate applicants. Make sure as you compile your list of colleges that you do your research and see where they stand on binding versus non-binding school/major choices. To sum up, apply to a wide range of colleges and universities so you’re not stuck choosing between being a chemistry major at one school and an art major at another come April your senior year! Home Visit Assignment Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Home Visit Assignment - Essay Example However, her parents admitted to Kyreni having become extremely bossy and temperamental often using sign language to communicate or otherwise when speaking, switching between her native Spanish to English. It seems that Kyreni is showing signs of jealousy towards her younger brother James and has resorted to various methods of communication in order to obtain her parents’ attention. She often resorts to crying where Reyna is forced to ignore the baby and tend to Kyreni in order to make her stop misbehaving. Both Reyna and Jason are devoted and loving parents, providing them with care and support. The have a healthy and learning environment, with plenty of healthy activities for Kyreni to participate in, like educational toys and books. Although, the parent’s relationship with the two kids is strong, I feel that they are still lacking a certain amount of organization and involvement. Due to the second baby, both parents find little time to play with Kyreni and be involve d in her activities. They feel that the only time they can actually communicate with her effectively, is during the short and brief time they can spare to play with her. This might be the only time Kyreni feels comfortable and happy. The short time she has to play with her parents allows her to feel tat they have finally come to her level and treating her as an individual. This feeling of not being thrown in the same category as her younger brother brings about a positive change in her behavior and attitude. She is, for the duration of play time, able to cope with her emotions and actively mingle with her parents knowing that for the moment she has her parents’ undivided attention. Even though, parents always love their children, they still need to provide a separate and special bonding time with each of their children to help them get a sense of their unique and individual relationship with their parents. At a young age, like Kyreni’s, children are unable to develop a sense of perspective. It is like first learning to drive a car, the slightest deviation from the road or straight line, causes one to panic and be unsure of the world around them. Similarly, children having to deal with jealousy and anger need adults to provide them with as sense of direction and healthy ways of coping with these new and undiscovered emotions. Jealousy is of course a natural feeling and it can’t be completely erased but its experience can be minimized and dealt with effectively. Although, Reyna and Jason displayed a lot of love and care towards their children, there was still a certain amount of organization lacking. This was largely due to the fact that Reyna’s mother is visiting. The parents admitted that they always lacked routines and weren’t good at scheduling, but their day was still a bit more structured before Reyna’s mother visiting. They have adhered to the little routines with Kyreni such as brushing her teeth, reading/singing to her before bedtime and giving her back rubs if she demands them. However, her nap schedule is really off and only takes them when she feels like it. It is really important to provide growing children with routines in order to facilitate a safe, regular and organized physical environment. Having routines and fixed schedules helps children to feel secure and comforted. By

Strategic Management of Ryanair Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Strategic Management of Ryanair - Case Study Example The increased competition between rivals in the budget airline industry may lead to price wars which will greatly benefit the customers only. "This is why Ryanair has an advantage over other airlines because their policy of bundling low frills and low prices together means that they are competing for the more price sensitive customer." (Sean Brophy and Dominic St. George, 2003) The demand for short haul flights is ever increasing in Europe. Hence it became important that Ryanair had to take all the benefits of the first mover advantages, since there are many airlines trying to copy the services being provided by Ryanair. Davy (2003) believes that "there are only two pan-European low cost operators where first mover advantage and scale and cost efficiencies gave the two largest players, Ryanair and Easyjet, a significant advantage." The fact remains that after deregulation almost 80 airlines started operating at low cost in the similar lines of Ryanair and 60 of them have since become bankrupt. According to Michael O'Leary, Ryanair need not bother about the competitive rivalry since according to him "at the lower end of the market Easyjet and Go don't really compete with Ryanair." Ryanair had a distinct competitive advantage in being the cheapest 'no frill' carrier in the Europe. It was possible for the airline to have the lowest costs as they drove down costs in every possible area. In the matter of competitive rivalry Ryanair has taken away large amount of market share from the rivals Aerlingus and British Airways and to some extent from other airlines. According to Reuters (11th February 2005) "Ryanair also announced it would offer 2 million free seats, a move designed to pressure full-service airlines such as British Airways whose fuel surcharges have widened the gap on fares between budget and traditional airlines. Ryanair is fully hedged until the end of next March and has refused to impose a fuel surcharge, betting that low fares and even free tickets will draw passengers away from rivals." These strategic moves of Ryanair keep a check on the competitive rivalry. Michael O' Leary said"The more we can put pressure on high-priced airlines, the more we can convince them there's no point competing with us (on short-haul European routes)," Bargaining Power of Customers: The customers for the airline industry especially in the budget airline are highly price sensitive. Switching to another competitive airline is relatively easier and simple thanks to the presence of internet and online booking facilities. The switching also does not entail a higher cost. The budget airline cannot

A Definition Of Postnatal Depression Nursing Essay

A Definition Of Postnatal Depression Nursing Essay One of the prime factors is considered to be the sudden postnatal drop in progesterone levels in the post partum days. (Nappi et al 2001) The placenta is responsible for the vast majority of circulating progesterone during pregnancy and its delivery is effectively responsible for the precipitate drop in levels post partum. There may also be other related hormonal changes including the fluctuations in prolactin levels (Hendrick et al 1998) and falling oestrogen and cortisol levels. (Halari et al. 2004) Symptoms can initially include irritability, tearfulness, insomnia, hypochondriasis, headache and impairment of concentration. There is a maximal incidence of these symptoms on about the fifth post partum day and these can progress to frank depressive symptoms over a variable period. (Ramsay et al 1995). There are various tools that can be used to measure the degree of depression and these include the Edinburgh postnatal depression scale,(Cox et al 1987), The Stein scale for maternity blues, (Stein 1980) and the Beck depression rating inventory. (Beck et al 1961) Key issues affecting vulnerable patients There have been a number of studies that look at the effectiveness of treatment of postnatal depression. One of the most recent publications (Dennis 2005) provides a meta-analysis of the factors which influence the outcome in the condition. The author concluded that the only strategy that was shown to have a clear preventative effect was intensive post-partum support from the healthcare professionals involved in the case. Curiously, this was found to be more effective than similar regimes which included an ante-natal component as well. The morbidity associated with postnatal depression has a number of potential consequences not only for the mother, but also the child and the rest of the family as well. (Oakley et al 1996) One of the most significant is the fact that one episode of postnatal depression is the greatest predictor (or risk factor) for another episode after subsequent pregnancies. The children are likely to have difficulties because of possible problems with bonding and the mothers possible negative perceptions of the behaviour of the children. (Cooper Murray 1997) Some studies have shown that mothers with postnatal depression have derived beneficial help from social support during pregnancy. (Ray et al 2000). It would therefore appear that the key issues in this area are identification of the predictive factors that make postnatal depression more likely and then the provision of prompt supportive measures if those factors are established. Local resources for support Apart from the more traditional resources of the primary healthcare team of the General Practice the Midwife and the Health Visitor, some centres have tried experiments with postnatal support worker provision (Morrell 2000). This particular study found that the patients found an high level of satisfaction with the service but no more so than with the services provided by the rest of the primary healthcare team. Analysis of the results showed that the postnatal support worker helped to achieve higher levels of breast feeding, but had little impact on the severity or frequency of postnatal depression. One significant factor that was found, however, was that support from a partner was a significant positive factor in preventing severe postnatal depression. Communication strategies Several recent studies have shown that healthcare professionals often fail to spot the signs of postnatal depression. (Bick et al 1995). Making the diagnosis is obviously the prerequisite of establishing a treatment regime so it is clearly vital for all healthcare professionals to be on their guard for warning signs sleep disturbance, irritability, mood swings and irrationality. (Ramsay et al 1995) Reflection and reflective practice is a vital part of effective nursing. (Gibbs 1998) . Each healthcare professional should ideally reflect upon their management of each individual case to decide whether they were communicating optimally with the patient and that they were fully receptive to all that was on the patients agenda. Communication is a two-way modality. Bulman (et al.2004) points to the need to understand, at a deeper level, just what it is the message that the patient is taking away from any interaction. Communication is therefore vital in the strategy to empower and educate the vulnerable patient. Role of midwife and Health Visitor The new mother is often at the centre of an emotional rollercoaster. The sudden culmination of nine months of expectation results (frequently) in a flurry of support from healthcare professionals and family, which then rapidly evaporates and the mother is left to deal with the new situation which is frequently stressful. (Kitzman et al 1997) The midwife can obviously help by preparing the ground in the antenatal period and offering support in the immediate postnatal period. (Dennis 2005). The health visitor is probably better placed to be aware of any developing warning signals that postnatal depression is developing, as they are likely to be in contact with the patient during the high risk period. (Cooper Murray 1995). It has been suggested that encouragement of the mother to attend the health visitor clinic rather than to have home visits is a positive way of encouraging social inclusion. (Seeley et al 1996) Studies which have looked at the cost-effectiveness of using community postnatal support service workers have shown no benefit over the more traditional midwife and Health Visitor support. Book Review – Simply Jesus

We can go about Sunday after Sunday worshipping the Lord Jesus and praying out to him in our own ways but at the end of the day, are we ready to deal with the challenges of the â€Å"real life†? Would we question ourselves on the reality of Jesus' existence? â€Å"With Jesus, Its easy to be complicated and hard to be simple†, described the author. And it is so true that with our Limited ability to fully comprehend the works of Christ Jesus, he becomes rather â€Å"under-utilized†, grossly under-valued with Its full potential nowhere near realized. The gospels, like his computer, have every right to feel restated, says the author.Jesus, though he was actually king, did not come fully recognizable as â€Å"the king†, so that his believers need to â€Å"exercise faith† in believing that Jesus is indeed the real king through all his miraculous works! Jesus is unavoidable. But he is also deeply mysterious. While we know so much about Jesus, yet there Is only so little that we really understood of him. Jesus puzzled people then, and he puzzles us till this day! Firstly, we know that Jesus' world was a strange, foreign country. Those days the people then thought differently. They coked at the world differently in cultural habits, practices and lifestyle.Secondly, Jesus' God seem to strange to us! There are so many â€Å"gods† from some of the world's great religions that it is not sufficient Just to ask, â€Å"Do you believe? † but to also ask, â€Å"Which god dowdy believe In? â€Å". We need to get Inside Jesus' world and try to catch a glimpse of what he meant when he spoke of God. Only then, we can begin to look Into think you were allowed to do, and he explained them by saying he had the right to do them! Of course, with all that said, Jesus didn't have â€Å"authority' over us. Nevertheless, the right to â€Å"choose† still lies in our hands today.

Surveillance Technology For Law Enforcement - 1535 Words

In today’s society we are seemingly under increasing surveillance. We have cameras where we shop, on traffic lights, in parking lots, at the ATM machine, and even on our phones we carry in our pockets. Most of this surveillance we accept from the private sector based on security reasons, and we choose to carry a phone, but what about the usage of surveillance technology for law enforcement? Should the government be allowed to watch us in the privacy of our homes or monitor our every movement? This idea that Big-Brother could be watching us everywhere used to be a tale of science fiction; however, with the quickly developing technology of unmanned aircrafts (drones), this is not out of the realm of possibility. As technology changes, public policy must change accordingly, and questions about usage of these unmanned aircraft by the government must be considered. Do members of law enforcement have the right to use unmanned aircraft to gather information about citizens or is suc h actions a violation of our Constitutional rights? This analysis evaluates policy regulating drone usage and more specifically focuses on the Commonwealth of Virginia and the legislative actions the state has enacted regarding the usage of unmanned aircrafts for law enforcement purposes. Background: An unmanned aircraft system is defined as any aircraft that cannot be operated by a human from inside the craft (HB 2125), but instead the device is operated remotely by a controller or through aShow MoreRelatedThe Utilization Of Technology For Law Enforcement Surveillance2301 Words   |  10 PagesSeminarâ€Æ' Abstract: The utilization of technology for law enforcement surveillance is not new. The Peoples Republic Of China - 1261 Words

Chapter 1 Introduction and Methodology: The Peoples Republic of China (PRC) is engaged in a delicate balancing act; on the one hand to continue promoting economic liberalisation, and on the other, to maintain its communist ideological foundations. Market reform, or the transformation from a command economy to a market economy, has been on going since The Reform and Opening period, which was ushered in by CCP leader Deng Xiaoping in 1978. This contributed to huge social and economic development, which has had numerous positive impacts for the State, principally, allowing the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to stay in power. However, in order to embrace market reform, the State had to relinquish partial control on their monopoly of information. This loosening of power occurred through easing restrictions on information allowed into China, and relaxing controls on who could influence the market. However, the State has also adapted to changing communication that came with market reform to stay in power. It has done this th rough modifying the structure of its propaganda system throughout different eras and using political narratives as a way to reconcile the tension between the market and State. However, the market has also adapted to the State through influencing the information and ideas that come with changing communication flows.
